“I’ve had customers ask me if E15 is ok to use because it’s a good price but they’re worried it’s going to ruin their engine. I let them know that they’ve certified it for anything 2001 and up, and it’s fine. It’s OK to use in your other cars as well. Your brand new one, your one that’s ten years old. And when I tell them we’ve worked on more than 30,000 cars here with no ethanol damage in our shop it helps make them more comfortable with it. I can’t tell you to use ethanol. That’s up to you. But I can tell you that we don’t see people coming in with damage from it and I use it in every car I own.”

"My husband and I commute to work together and we drive around 200 miles each week. I choose ethanol to fuel my car because we save a lot of money versus buying regular fuel. With the amount of driving we do, we can't afford to not use it. I have used ethanol in every make and model of vehicle I have ever owned and have seen no adverse effects. I also buy it because I am a farmer's daughter and I want to support our local farmers. “I got a new system to keep track of cars three or four years after I came to Nordstrom’s and since then, 31,813 cars have gone through our shop. Not a single one of those has come in here because they had damage from ethanol use and needed a repair. With our auto recycling business we're taking in six to 7,000 cars a year. Most of those are insurance claims that were wrecked, and we purchased from insurance companies and things like that. In three decades of getting those cars in like that, not a single one has come in with an insurance sheet that said, damaged by ethanol. So I would think that if it was going to be a big problem for them that we would have seen some with damage already and we haven’t.” — Russ Evans, Master Mechanic Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. and Under the Hood Show
